Brand values translated into built form

Peterbilt Motors is a purpose-built dealership and service facility that was designed to reflect the brand’s reputation for rugged innovation, purposeful engineering, and exceptional craftsmanship. The building includes a 4,500 sf showroom and a highly functional 9,500 sf, 10-bay drive-through service shop, supported by office space for daily operations.

Winner of the Merit Award in the Industrial category at the 2017 Fraser Valley Commercial Building Awards, this project demonstrates how value-driven design can translate brand values into built form.

The architecture expresses the strength and precision associated with Peterbilt’s heavy-duty trucks through robust tilt-up concrete and steel frame construction. Bold red angled roof projections create dynamic visual interest and brand recognition, while an expansive curtain wall glazing system wraps the showroom, offering transparency and street visibility. This design strategy allows passersby to view the light-filled interior and vehicles on display, transforming the building into a marketing asset that reinforces the Peterbilt identity. The service facility prioritizes workflow efficiency through its drive-through bay configuration, supporting the company’s commitment to reliable, high-quality vehicle maintenance.
