A pioneering market for the local community

Lepp Farm Market stands as Abbotsford’s pioneering year-round farmers market, offering 14,416 sf of architecturally expressive retail and gathering space on a 17.8-acre property. The design language speaks directly to the building’s agricultural context through honest material choices and familiar rural forms. A steeply pitched gable roof immediately evokes the iconic barns and farm buildings of the surrounding landscape, while warm beige and tan siding creates an earth-toned envelope that harmonizes with the natural setting. Carefully placed timber elements, from structural posts to window trim, introduce warmth and tactile richness, and expansive storefront glazing creates visual connectivity that welcomes visitors and bathes the interior in natural light.

Inside, exposed wood beams and rafters celebrate the structural clarity of agricultural buildings, while the open, thoughtfully planned layout ensures clear sightlines throughout the space. The full butcher shop and café integrate seamlessly into the design, reinforcing the market’s role as both a retail destination and a community gathering place. Situated within the Agricultural Land Reserve, this facility provides fresh, locally sourced food while directly supporting the producers and farmers who sustain the region’s agricultural economy.
